The Wang Family's Reunion - Edinburgh October 2012

There seems to be suficient interest in arranging a reunion in Ediburgh 2012 so I have been tasked to arrange it!    After some discussions with Catherine,  we have settled on October 2012 in Edinburgh for the next Wang family reunion.   The dates will be in the week of the 20th to the 28th.   This week avoids the Olympics, the summer festivals in Edinburgh, Easter and my elder son’s wedding in May.

The basic itinerary would be say 4 full days e.g. Friday night to Wednesday morning.

There is a potentially a great deal to see in and around Edinburgh including several places related to Wang Hay Shing (Hasting Wang).   A few trips would be arranged,  an evening location for a more formal get together, some free time and there are plenty of good restaurants for meals either as a group or as individuals.   Ideally I would like to book us all into one hotel but expense may mean that people would prefer to book their own accommodation.   Edinburgh being a business and tourist centre has a large number of hotels, guest houses and bed and breakfast.

I will endeavour to email all of you periodically with a summary of progress or if I need information.

See you all in Edinburgh.

All the best

Duncan

There are some people who have indicated that they cannot make October 2012 and as one of these is Gordon I thought I would offer an alternative date of May 2013. Please indicate with potential numbers i..."
I found this post accidentally...it is not on the main blog, but says it was posted more recently (5 days ago) than the post suggesting October 2012 (6 days ago?). October 2012 would be perfect for us; May 2013 would probably be ok, but is so far in advance to be less assured at this time. Either would be alright for us--Kenneth, Charles and Linda Wong with 2 spouses and 1 daughter (age 16).

  2. If we went for May 2013 the date would be changed again and again. At date has to be decided apon and we have now done this. No matter what date is selected someone will be disappointed.

  3. April 2011. Val and spent a couple of days in Edinburgh and have come back filled with ideas and contacts to help in the planning of the re-union. Visiting Edinbburgh reminded me of how beautiful and interesting the city is. Of course there are some stunning locations within easy travaelling of Edinburgh as well!
